My name is Jon Conlon, and I've lived in the Prior Lake–Savage Area Schools district for over 15 years.

I grew up in Janesville, a small town outside Mankato, and come from a family deeply rooted in education. My grandpa served as President of the Minnesota School Board Association back in the 60s, my mom spent over a decade as a high school teacher before becoming a professor at Minnesota State – Mankato, and my sister and her husband are both longtime high school math teachers.

My wife Amanda and I have three kids in the district — two at Hidden Oaks and one at La ola del lago at Grainwood. Like many families here, we care deeply about the quality of education our children receive.

Professionally, I’ve spent about 20 years in corporate finance, working at companies like IBM and Polaris. Today, I serve as CFO for a commercial electric vehicle manufacturer. My background includes managing billion-dollar budgets, mergers and acquisitions, and leading global finance teams — but at the end of the day, I’m just a local Laker dad who wants to use those skills to help our schools.

In my free time, I enjoy golfing, cooking, cheering on the Vikings, and staying involved in our community. I’ve coached youth sports, served as a host family for Spanish immersion interns, and currently sit on the district’s finance committee.

I’m running for school board because I believe in using real data, common sense, and collaboration to support our students, teachers, and leadership team. I’m excited about the opportunity to give back to a district that’s given so much to my family.
